Tunnelling magnetoresistance (TMR) in CrSBr

A graphene/CrSBr/graphene junction where the same magnetic material acts as both the magnetic layer and the tunnelling barrier, reaching 300% TMR (tunnelling magnetoresistance) in the lab; DFT calculations support the observed trend. Not yet submitted for peer review, so it is listed here separately from the papers above rather than alongside them.

    An ongoing PhD investigating the structural and magnetic nature of single-crystal layered magnetic materials, drawing on the exchange-bias and CrSBr tunnelling-magnetoresistance work carried out in the Kläui group. The thesis is not yet submitted or defended; a full public abstract will follow submission.

  • Spin injection from a ferromagnetic metal into an organic semiconductor

    Investigated how a pure spin current generated by microwave excitation of a magnetic oxide can be injected into an organic semiconductor and detected electrically. Built a custom microwave measurement setup from scratch alongside the thin-film growth and magnetic characterisation it needed. The thesis received the top grade, and the measurement setup went on to feed a co-authored 2024 publication.
